Mayor Fenty, Councilmember Thomas, and DPR to Break Ground for New Playgrounds at Langdon Park

On Thursday, October 16, 2008, at 3:45 pm, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, Ward 5 Councilmember Harry “Tommy” Thomas, Jr., Chairman of the Committee on Libraries, Parks and Recreation, and DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Director Clark E. Ray, will join the Ward 5 community for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of construction of new playgrounds at the Langdon Park Community Center, 2901 20th St., NE

This project will construct two new play structures, one for 2 to 5 year olds and one for 6 to 12 year olds. A new central plaza and walkways will also be built.  Construction is scheduled to be complete in spring 2009.
