The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has begun roofing work at the Guy Mason Recreation Center, 3600 Calvert Street, NW.  Current work includes removal of the current slate roof and replacement with a new slate roof system, and repairs to other portions of the building that have been affected by moisture.

The building will remain open during the majority of the work, however to accommodate work on the front of the building, and for the safety of patrons, the building will be closed during the business day from October 27 to October 31, 2008.  During these dates, the Guy Mason Recreation Center will open at 3 pm. 

Regular hours are scheduled to resume on Saturday, November 1, 2008.
