Mayor Fenty and DPR to Break Ground for New Parks at S and T Street Triangle Parks

Media Contact: John A. Stokes, (202) 673-2195

Mayor Adrian M. Fenty will join the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and members of the Ward 2 community for a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of major improvements at the S and T Street triangle parks.

The S Street triangle park will become the District’s first permanent public dog park.  This new 5,600 square foot public dog park will be maintained in partnership by Circle Dogs and DPR.  Work at the T Street triangle park will bring new landscaping, decorative pavers, and seating areas. In addition, the work will help preserve one of the District’s oldest swamp oak trees.

The Washington Humane Society will be onsite during the groundbreaking ceremony offering dog adoptions to the public. There are no application fees, but there is an adoption fee of $135, which covers all necessary vaccinations and spaying or neutering. Once an application is completed, the adoption process takes three to five days.
