On Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at 9:15 am, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the improvements made to the Banneker baseball diamond, located at 2500 Georgia Avenue, NW. The ribbon cutting ceremony will also include the dedication of the District’s newest premier athletic field to baseball great, Maury Wills, on the opening day of the 7th Annual Maury Wills Invitational Baseball Tournament.

Clinic participants, between 8 and 18 years old, will concentrate on improving skills in batting, outfield play, throwing, pitching and catching. In addition to the clinic, this special morning dedication event will also include the first game of the tournament between Cardozo Senior High School and Eastern High School.
