Beginning Saturday, April 7, DC Parks and Recreation (DPR) will hold clean-ups in neighborhoods surrounding recreation centers. The clean-ups will take place on Saturday’s during the months of April and May.
“The clean-ups are designed to improve and beautify recreation centers and parks by removing trash, debris and graffiti. We will also plant flowers and trees in appropriate areas,” says Wanda Durden, Interim Director, DC Parks and Recreation.
Community members of all ages are encouraged to come out and assist in the clean-up. The DPR Volunteer in Action office will supply gloves, gardening equipment and seedlings.
