(Washington, DC) On Friday, February 23, 2007, DC Parks and Recreation will host simultaneous teen nights in different quadrants of the District, giving teens an opportunity to enjoy themselves doing innovative activities.

Aqua Teen Night will take place at Takoma Aquatic Center, 300 Van Buren Street, NW. At this event, teens will be treated to a lifeguard Olympics and water show. They will also be able to swim, dance, and enroll in the lifeguard academy. Proper swim attire is required. Call (202) 576-9533 for details.

The Center for Therapeutic Recreation located at 3030 G Street, SE will host a Gospel Explosion event that features youth gospel choirs performing for teens. Call (202) 698-1794 for details.

“We are always looking for fun and unique activities for our teens," said DPR Interim Director Wanda S. Durden.

Transportation to both events is available from residents' closest recreation center. Those interested in transportation should contact the site manager for details.
