(Washington, DC) On Monday, August 27th the education programs of the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center will be highlighted by the United States Tennis Association’s Education Foundation at the President’s Dinner in Flushing Meadows, New York. The USTA’s Education Foundation supports organizations and programs that enhance the lives of people through tennis and education.
Under the tutelage of Recreation Wish List Founder Cora Masters Barry, the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center (SETLC) has been honored many times and continues to produce stellar athletes and scholarly students. The SETLC is lauded for its programs such as Sew and Know Entrepreneurial Club, Chess Club, What’s in a Book? Reading Club, Math Olympics and the new state-of-the-art technology lab. They have been the host of such greats as Venus and Serena Williams, Zena Garrison, Hillary Clinton, and Dr. Dorothy Height.
The Southeast Tennis and Learning Center was chosen among many programs submitted to the USTA’s Education Foundation. A 16-minute video of all the programs will be shown during the dinner.
