DC Parks and Recreation Crowns Football Champions; One Team Heads to Annapolis

(Washington, DC) On Saturday, November 17, 12 teams faced off in the DC Parks and Recreation Youth Football League (DCPRYFL) Division Championships. Six teams claimed victory in their respective divisions. The winners were:

Pee-Wee Division
Harry Thomas Sr., “Cougars” topped the Emery “Soldiers” 21-14

Anklebiter Division
The Emery “Soldiers” rolled over the Langdon Park “Indians” 19-6

Pony Division
The Kenilworth “Lions” bested the Lafayette “Panthers” 6-0

Midget Division
The North Michigan Park “Indians” beat the Kenilworth “Lions” 31-0

Junior Division
Raymond “Tigers” defeated the Harry Thomas Sr., “Cougars” 21-0

Intermediate Division
Lafayette “Panthers” won over the Benning Stoddert “Sharks” 15-7

In the Beltway League, the 65lb Little League Football team from Ridge Road Recreation Center earned the right to play in the Beltway Championship on Sunday, November 25, in Annapolis, Maryland. The Ridge Road Team has a 10-1 record and is the only DC Little League Team headed to Annapolis. A pep rally and send off is planned to wish the team success.
