The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host a special meeting for all current and potential “Adopt A Park” and “Friends Of” partners on Monday, April 7, 2008, from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Banneker Recreation Center, 2500 Georgia Avenue, NW.
At the meeting, DPR will provide updates on the new process for becoming a formal DPR “Adopt A Park” or “Friends Of” partner; review new partnership opportunities; review the process for implementing a community funded or supported project; share the status of DPR’s review of all partnership agreements; and provide an opportunity to meet with DPR Director Clark E. Ray and staff from the DPR Office of Partnerships and Development.
“One of my most important goals for DPR is to make a much stronger and active commitment and connection to our partners,” said Clark E. Ray, director of DPR. “By maintaining and better managing our existing relationships and establishing new ones, we will be able to build new successes and accomplishments together.”
