Today, Thursday, April 10, at 4 pm, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and the District’s Chief Technology Officer Vivek Kundra will join DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Director Clark E. Ray to receive a donation of over 250 laptops from the Office of Thrift Supervision. The computers, Dell Latitude C840 notebooks, are being donated by the federal agency in an effort to enhance the current technology offerings at DPR recreational facilities, and will be distributed to pre-selected centers in all of the District’s eight wards.

John M. Reich, director of the Office of Thrift Supervision, stated, “As a former community banker, I appreciate the importance of playing a positive role in the community where you work and live. I am gratified that these laptop computers will play a part in shaping the lives of young people in recreation centers across this city.”
