Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, Ward 5 Councilmember and Chair of the Committee on Libraries, Parks and Recreation, Harry “Tommy” Thomas, Jr., Ward 4 Councilmember Muriel Bowser, Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Director, Clark E. Ray, and members of the community will officially open the new Riggs LaSalle Recreation Center, 501 Riggs Road, NE, on Saturday, April 12, at 10:30 am.

Among the features of the new Riggs LaSalle Recreation Center are an indoor gymnasium with bleachers, weight and fitness room, computer lab, multipurpose room, and restrooms with showers and lockers.  The building also has a green roof and DPR is seeking LEED certification of the facility.
