The registration deadline for the 25th Annual DC Golden Olympics has been extended until Friday, May 2, 2008. The yearly competition, hosted by the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) in partnership with the DC Office on Aging, showcases the athletic prowess of District residents ages 50 and above.
A registration form is included with this news release. Participants can also obtain a registration form online at DPR's website, dpr.dc.gov, or by visiting any of the registration sites throughout the District:

The opening ceremony for the four, fun-filled days of athletic competition, sports tournaments and health education exhibits will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at 11 am at the Emery Recreation Center; the closing ceremony on Friday, May 9, 2008, at 4:30 pm at the Fort Stevens Recreation Center. DC Golden Olympics events include archery,
basketball, billiards, bowling, golf, horseshoe pitching, softball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, and track and field.
