(Washington, D.C.) – On Saturday, May 17, 2008, the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host the 2008 Citywide Cheerleading Competition at Coolidge High School, 5th Street and Tuckerman Avenue, NW. The competition will begin at 11:00 am and run throughout the day.
24 teams will compete in the following age groups: 6 and under; 10 and under; 13 and under, and 18 and under. Teams from the following DPR centers will be competing:

- Benning Stoddert Community Center
- Chevy Chase Community Center
- Emery Recreation Center
- Fort Davis Community Center
- Harrison Recreation Center
- Harry Thomas Community Center
- Joseph H. Cole Recreation Center
- Kenilworth-Parkside
- Kennedy
- King-Greenleaf
- Lafayette Recreation Center
- Malcolm X Recreation Center
- Parkview Community Center
- Sherwood Recreation Center
- Takoma Community Center
The competition is open to the public; admission is $5.00 and free for children age 12 and under.
