DPR Releases Grass Mowing Schedules for Parks, Recreation Centers, and Athletic Fields

Media Contact Only: MosesAlexander Greene, (202) 673-7684

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has made their Grass Mowing Schedules for parks, recreation centers, and athletic fields available on its website, dpr.dc.gov

“One of the most popular questions we receive at DPR is ‘When is the grass going to be cut?’” said Clark E. Ray, DPR Director.  “By posting our full schedules on our website, we can minimize the number of questions and concerns.”

DPR maintains small parks, athletic fields, and ball fields across the District, and these parks and fields are maintained throughout the year with a regular schedule of mowing and other landscaping services.  DPR’s grass mowing schedules are dependant upon good weather and if mowing is delayed because of inclement weather, the mowing schedule will shift one day.  For example, Tuesday’s scheduled mowing moves to Wednesday, and so forth for each day of delay, until mowing can return to the regular schedule.

If a park or athletic field is in need of mowing or maintenance, please contact DPR's Facilities Management Division at (202) 671-3408.
