DC Department of Parks and Recreation Promises Fun-Filled Fall

Media Only Contact: John A. Stokes, (202) 673-2195 (DPR)

This afternoon, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced that “Fun-Filled Fall,” the agency’s 2008 Fall Program Guide, is now available online and at DPR-operated recreation facilities throughout the city.

“As autumn approaches, I am excited to highlight our new programs across the District and the new partners which have come on board to expand and enhance our offerings,” stated DPR Director Clark E. Ray. “I ask the residents of the District to take a moment to use ‘Fun-Filled Fall’ to plan a season full of personal enrichment, fitness and exercise, special events, cultural arts and much more.”

The comprehensive guide includes brief descriptions of each division with contact phone numbers, registration guidelines, a table which highlights the features and amenities of DPR facilities as well as a listing of classes and programs the various divisions are offering this fall. For the first time, District residents will also be able to register for programs featured in the guide by using their DC OneCard.

“DPR is an agency which gives District residents, business owners and our visitors much more than just fun and games,” said Mayor Adrian M. Fenty. “It provides safe and healthy environments that facilitate cultural, athletic and educational learning. I hope everyone takes part in many of the great opportunities offered in Fun-Filled Fall.”
