The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) track and field club, DC Speed, competed last week in the Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex Cross Country Meet in Largo, MD, and placed 11 runners in first, second, and third place.
DC Speed will also be competing in the Olney Track Club Cross Country meet Sunday, October 19, 2008, at Lake Needwood Park in Rockville, MD.
DPR's youth athletes ran to the highest level of any group at last Thursday's meet featuring approximately 60 youth athletes. DC Speed runners earned five first place finishes, two second place finishes, four third place finishes, and a fourth place finish among each of their age groups.
