DC Pop Warner Football League Playoffs Begin This Week

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) announced today that DC Pop Warner Football League playoffs will begin Wednesday, October 22, 2008, on the fields at Kenilworth Parkside, 4300 Anacostia Ave., NE, and Stanton Elementary School, 2701 Naylor Rd., SE, at the corner of Alabama and Stanton Roads, SE.  

This season, over 110 teams and over 2,800 youth athletes ages 5 to 15 years old have participated in the DC Pop Warner Football League. 

Playoff games at Kenilworth Parkside will feature BGCGW and independent teams with players that are 10 to 12 years old.  The games at Stanton Elementary will feature four DPR teams.

Playoffs will continue on Thursday, October 23 and Saturday, October 25 at locations across the District, including at Coolidge Senior High School, 6315 5th St., NW, and Ballou Senior High School, 3401 4th St., SE.

DC Pop Warner Football League playoffs will conclude with championship games on Saturday, November 1 at Coolidge Senior High School and on Sunday, November 2 at Ballou Senior High School.   Champions from the DC Pop Warner Football League will be eligible to compete in the Pop Warner Football Eastern Regional Championships beginning November 9, 2008.
