The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host its first Summer 2009 Job Fair on November 26, 2008 at the Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, 1100 Michigan Avenue, NE, from 10 am to 3 pm.

Residents that are interested in summer employment with DPR are encouraged to attend, and should be prepared to complete employment applications.  For those interested in lifeguard positions, on site swim assessments will be conducted.  Lifeguard applicants should bring proof of any current certifications.

Summer positions with DPR include Camp Counselors, Pool Managers, Lifeguards, Sports Specialists, Custodial Staff, Motor Vehicle Operators, Day Care Aides, Food Monitors, and Recreation Aides.  Additional information and position descriptions are available in the "Summer Employment" section of DPR's website, DPR.DC.GOV.

Representatives from various DPR divisions and offices will be on site including Office of Educational Services, Camping, Athletic Programs, Roving Leaders, Human Resources, Teen Programs, and Facilities Management, to answer questions and provide assistance.
