On Friday, December 19, 2008, 600 youth from the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will take part in "DPR Day at the Verizon Center," as they watch the Washington Wizards play the Philadelphia 76er's.

Fifty DPR youth will be selected to serve as “High Five Kids” who will slap hands with players as they come to the floor and five youth will receive autographed basketballs on behalf of DPR from Wizards players.

During halftime of the Wizards game, two DPR youth basketball teams will play during the break, and DPR Director Clark E. Ray will be recognized by the Washington Wizards.
