The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has released the official Meet Notice for "Make Your Mark!" the 23rd Annual Black History Invitational Swim Meet, to be held February 13 to 15, 2009, at the Takoma Aquatic Center, 300 Van Buren, St., NW.
Hosted by DPR and the United Black Fund, Inc., the Black History Invitational Swim Meet is hailed by USA Swimming, the national governing body for the sport of swimming, as the "premier minority swim competition in the United States and in the World."

DPR welcomes volunteers who are interested in being part of this annual event; volunteer shifts are available all three days of the meet. Those interested in volunteering should contact the DPR Aquatics office at (202) 671-1289.
