In celebration of May Tennis Month, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation in partnership with the United States Tennis Association/Washington Tennis Association will host a Tennis Block Party at Turkey Thicket Recreation Center, 1100 Michigan Avenue, NE, on Sunday May 31, 2009, from 11 am to 6 pm.
The Tennis Block Party is free, and is designed for families to experience the fun and fitness of playing tennis at any age. The event will offer fun tennis games and instruction for adults and children, as well as food, giveaways, and raffle prizes. Special activities will include Cardio Tennis, a Kids Court, a Quick Start Court, a Skills & Drills Court, and a Rise and Fly Doubles and Mixed Doubles Courts.
