The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has announced that registration for DPR's Cooperative Play Preschool Program will open at 9 am on Monday, June 15, 2009. DPR's Cooperative Play Preschool Program is offered during the public school year, Monday - Friday, 9 am - 12 noon, at ten DPR centers. Complete registration information and list of Cooperative Play Preschool sites and is available online in the "Childcare / Early Education" section on DPR's website, dpr.dc.gov.
Through the Cooperative Play Preschool program, young children ages 18-months to 5 years old, are introduced to a structured play setting with activities that engage the whole child - mentally, socially, physically, and emotionally - in preparation for entering the formal education system.
The DPR Cooperative Play Preschool Program will run from September 14, 2009 to May 28, 2010; children must be age appropriate by September 30 of the enrollment year. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $30 per site and tuition for DC Residents is $1,920 per child for the school year.
