The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the DC Office on Aging (DCOA) will welcome over 1,000 seniors to DPR's Annual Senior Picnic on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the Takoma Community Center, 300 Van Buren Street, NW, from 10 am to 2 pm; lunch will begin at noon.

Events for the day include live music, health information, screenings, and demonstrations, bingo by the DC Lottery, a visit from the McKinley Technology High School Technology Bus and more.  Support for the DPR Annual Senior Picnic is being provided by Pfizer, Inc.
