Washington Nationals Groundskeeper Meets with DPR

Washington Nationals Groundskeeper John Royse met with DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) staff and youth at the King Greenleaf Recreation Center, 201 N Street, SW, on Wednesday, July 29. Royse demonstrated techniques for proper infield care including weeding, grooming and drying practices.

The Nationals also provided DPR's King Greenleaf Recreation Center with Turface, an infield conditioner used around Major League Baseball to keep fields playable after heavy rains. The King Greenleaf Recreation Center is located in Southwest Washington, just three blocks from Nationals Park.

Members of the Washington Nationals grounds crew and front office join DPR Acting Director Ximena Hartsock, and DPR youth and staff.
