The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will end this year’s Washington Mystics Summer Youth Basketball League by playing a day of championship games on August 16, 2009 at the Verizon Center in downtown Washington.  This summer, nearly 250 girls ages 10 to 18 years old, on 25 teams competed in three age groups in the Mystics Summer Youth Basketball League.

On August 16, playoff teams will play their championship games, and all of the teams from the summer league will attend the Washington Mystics game versus the New York Liberty.  During halftime of the Mystics game, teams competing in the championship games and DPR Acting Director Ximena Hartsock will be recognized.

Championship Game Schedule

• 12 noon – 1 pm: 12-under Division Championship Game
• 1 pm – 2 pm: 13-15 Division Championship Game
• 4 pm – 6 pm: Washington Mystics vs. New York Liberty Game
• 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm: 16-18 Division Championship Game
