The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host a community service project at the DC Center for Therapeutic Recreation, 3030 G Street, SE, on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 10 am to 2 pm. Volunteers will help with beautification projects and create adaptive community gardens.
This project is sponsored through a Make a Difference Day grant from Serve DC - The Mayor's Office on Volunteerism. Individuals and groups interested in volunteering can RSVP by contacting Kathy Zarate at (202) 258-6021 or emailing DPRpartnerships@dc.gov. Make a Difference Day, created by USA Weekend, is the most encompassing national day of helping others, a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors.
