District Offers Safe Halloween Alternatives

(Washington, DC) DC Parks and Recreation facilities will open their doors to local ghouls and goblins during several Halloween events this week.

Throughout the District, recreation centers will serve as host to costume parties, dances, parades, and haunted houses. All are free and open to the public.

Although these events are planned annually, DPR is making a special effort to inform the public of safe alternatives to the traditional Halloween fare.

“We understand that safety is a major parental concern in the Washington, DC, area,” Director Neil O. Albert, said. “Security will be provided to ensure safe family entertainment.”
