Workshop Teaches Teens to Slam Stress

(Washington, DC) To help teen-agers cope during these unsettling times, DC Parks and Recreation will conduct a series of  Slam Your Stress emotional health workshops.

The workshops will be held in schools and recreation centers throughout the city to help combat the anxiety, fear and anger associated with traumatic events.

“The effects of stress on children from such conditions may have long-term implications,” Neil O. Albert, DPR director, said.  “We understand that all children at one time or another will have fears of specific objects, but in today’s more ‘hyper alert’ times, we want to make sure that their level of anxiety does not begin to interfere with their ability to function.”

Slam Your Stress/Creative Expression workshops use quintessential methods of addressing the problems associated with stress, anger management, conflict resolution, diversity, and team building.

Please take time to experience these life-affirming workshops. Join in the fun, and slam your stress.
