(Washington, DC) Join DC Parks and Recreation, Mayor Williams, foreign dignitaries, and community leaders at a formal gift exchange for the country of Ghana, Africa.
The event will take place Monday, Dec. 23, at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center, located at 701 Mississippi Ave., SE. Festivities begin at 10 am.
In this season of giving, District youth will send a variety of tennis equipment to Ghanaian children. The list includes 20 cases of tennis balls, 60 tennis rackets and sporting apparel (T-shirts, tennis shoes, socks, bandanas, and head gear).
Tennis is a game of skill, Neil O. Albert, department director, said. We hope that this equipment enables Ghanaian youth to nurture their love of the game.
