Working Partnership: A Reality for District Youth

The grand opening of the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center is the beginning of opportunities for hundreds of children, teens, and families in our city. Exposure to and training in the sport of tennis, educational enrichment through tutoring, computer training, and other academic curricula will open doors for many, who otherwise would not have the chance to discover or develop their abilities.

This beautiful structure is the result of a working partnership between the District of Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation, and the nonprofit Recreation Wish List Committee. Clearly, this joint venture underscores the value of creative partnerships to expand opportunities for District residents.

Today, a vision has become a reality. We are offering another alternative for young people in the District of Columbia to perfect and parlay their skills for educational opportunities that can lead to a brighter future.
