(Washington, DC) If you want to experience some of the services DC Parks and Recreation has to offer firsthand, come to the 2003 Out-of-Sight Kidsfest exhibition.
The event will take place from 10 am to 5 pm, November 15 at the new Washington Convention Center.
The department, in partnership with civic and media organizations, is sponsoring a one-of-a-kind wellness and health exposition specifically targeted toward the areas youth.
Not only will DPR have information available about its programs and events, but its pavilion will also offer tennis lessons and volleys by experts from the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center. Participants will get a taste of the services offered by the center and have the opportunity to win prizes from sponsors.
Kidsfest 2003 will also feature games, obstacle courses, physical fitness activities, health screenings and interactive tools, and will focus on a variety of topics such as injury prevention, the performing arts, nutrition, sports and physical fitness, technology, literacy and community resources.
Officials at DPR, the only DC-based recreation agency partnering in the event, believe that the exhibition will provide an opportunity to make area residents aware of the services offered that are unique to the department. DPR is committed to the recreational, social and educational development of youth through creative programming and the improvement of its facilities and parks.
