(Washington, DC) The groundbreaking date for the soon-to-be renovated King-Greenleaf Recreation Center has been changed.
Originally scheduled for early December, the project's groundbreaking event, now set for March 2004, will more accurately reflect the start date of actual construction, officials said.
As part of DPRs Capital Parks Improvement Project initiative, the department is replacing the existing King-Greenleaf structure with a state-of-the-art facility that will include an indoor gymnasium, meeting spaces, exercise rooms, shower facilities, locker rooms and learning centers. Plans also include the upgrading of parking spaces and installation of outside lighting.
The King-Greenleaf site, serving the Greenleaf, Syphax Gardens and James Creek communities, is used to capacity during the football, baseball and soccer seasons.
Stay tuned for a future advisory that will notify you of the new date once it is determined.
