(Washington, DC) DC Parks and Recreation and the National Park Service(NPS) have finalized plans for the 2004 Permit Season.
As discussed in a community meeting held in December, officials will accept applications for facility use beginning Jan. 2. This will be for the spring/summer season and will apply to requests for all DPR facilities.
On Jan. 6, the Permits Office will stop accepting its first round of applications for ballfields. Those applications submitted by Jan. 6 will be processed, and responses (or permits) will be given by Feb. 15.
The Permit Office accepts spring/summer field use applications starting Jan. 1 through Aug. 31. Ballfields can be used starting March 1 through Aug. 31.
Both DPR and NPS recognize the importance of providing fair and unbiased services to all teams, leagues and community residents. The groups seek a dialogue with community organizations to create an all-inclusive schedule.
