Winter Activity Guide Features Free Services and Activities for DC Residents of All Ages

(Washington, DC) Welcome to the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR)!  We offer many programs that are FREE of charge to all DC residents. Our FREE programs include: open swimming, afterschool programs at most sites, athletic instruction for youth (i.e., soccer and basketball), various teen activities, arts and crafts for all ages, etiquette classes, homework assistance, access to computers, book clubs and much, much more.  Please feel free to browse all that we have to offer.  You will notice some of our specialized programs and classes have a nominal fee, but far more programs are FREE to DC residents.  All of our fee-based programs have scholarships.  To register for any program or apply for a scholarship, please visit or contact your local recreation center.  Join in the FUN!

The DPR has released its Winter Activity Guide, featuring activities and events for children, teens, adults, families and seniors, as well as specialized programs for people with disabilities. From sports teams to crafts to book clubs, the DPR has programs and resources for everybody.

The Winter Guide is your resource for activities throughout the District of Columbia. There is a directory of facilities, a guide to educational and child care programs, a directory of recreation and enrichment programs, sports and fitness resources, a listing of senior services, and a directory of therapeutic recreation services.
