DPR Presents 23rd Annual DC Senior Golden Olympics

The Department of Parks and Recreation, Senior Services Division, in conjunction with the DC Office on Aging, will host the opening ceremony for the DC Senior Golden Olympics May 9, at Emery Recreation Center, 5701 Georgia Ave, NW, at 11 am.

The DC Senior Golden Olympics begins May 9 and ends May 12 at 4:30 pm with a closing ceremony, also at Emery Recreation Center. Each year hundreds of seniors participate in this event. The DC Senior Golden Olympics is filled with four fun days of athletic competition, sports tournaments and health education exhibits showcased by the District's seniors. Many of the athletes competing this year will represent the District of Columbia in the National Games in Louisville, Kentucky in July 2007.

To register for an event or to volunteer, you may drop in at the following sites; Emery Recreation Center, Ft. Stevens Senior Recreation Center, Sherwood Recreation Center, Ft. Davis Recreation Center, and the Office of Senior Services at 4301 Connecticut Ave., NW, Suite 240.
