(Washington DC) On Saturday, June 17, 2006, the Department of Parks and Recreation will celebrate the grand opening of Lamond Recreation Center at 20 Tuckerman Street, NE.  

The Department of Parks and Recreation, in conjunction with the Friends of Lamond planning committee, has organized a spectacular grand opening. “This ceremony represents an integral part of Lamond community, just in time for the summer season” said Kimberley Flowers, director of the Department of Parks and Recreation.  “We’re excited about this new facility, and the residents will be able to enjoy great programs here.”

The Lamond community will be addressed by members of the city council, community leaders and government officials.

The celebration and ribbon cutting begins at 10am.
