(Washington, DC) - On Saturday, September 9, 2006, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Palisades community will hold the groundbreaking for the renovation of the Palisades Ball Park Field, 5200 Sherrier Place, NW.  

“This project will include a new artificial soccer field, an irrigation system for the existing baseball field, lighting on the existing baseball field, a new walkway throughout the park, refurbished basketball courts, new park benches and enhanced landscaping for the Palisades community" said Kimberley Flowers, DPR Director.

The Palisades community will be addressed by council members, government officials and local community leaders.

The groundbreaking begins at 10:30 am.
