DPW to Consolidate HHW/E- Cycling/Shredding Services at Ft. Totten Trash Transfer Station, Starting Oct. 3

The DC Department of Public Works (DPW) announced that its household hazardous waste/e-cycling/personal document shredding services will be consolidated at the Ft. Totten Trash Transfer Station at 4900 John F. McCormack Road, NE, as of Saturday, October 3. Currently, DPW provides these services each Saturday, between 8 am and 3 pm, at Ft. Totten, as well as the Benning Road Trash Transfer Station, which will discontinue offering these services after September 26.

“DPW faces the challenge of helping this government close a projected $666 million budget gap over the next two years,” said DPW Director William O. Howland, Jr. “Consolidating our Saturday drop off services at one location, allows us to sustain our budget cuts while maintaining the quality of other essential services we offer the public.”
