‘First Year’ Program Focuses on Youth and Career Choices

(Washington, DC) Music Television (MTV) will air an episode of its News and Documentary Division program “First Year” this Saturday at 11:30 am. Featured in this episode is DC Firefighter/EMT Levitus Wimbish of Engine 6.

Filming for this program began in December of 2004 and followed firefighter/EMT Wimbish through the DC Fire/EMS Training Academy and his year as a probationer. It goes inside the firehouse to explore his professional life, and it goes into his home to show his personal challenges and the elements that combined to make him a firefighter.

“This was a unique opportunity for me,” said firefighter/EMT Wimbish, who was enthusiastic about showing what it takes to become a firefighter.
