(Washington, DC) The District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department is extending the application deadline for the 2007 Fire Cadet Program to October 6, 2006 to give city youth an opportunity to join its Cadet Program.
The Cadet Program is a highly competitive full-time one-year firefighter/EMT training program for District residents, ages 18-20. The program has up to 35 positions available for qualified applicants. Those who successfully complete the program can start rewarding public service careers with the DC Fire/EMS Department. Candidates selected will receive a regular stipend during training.
Interested candidates may pick up application packages at one of three locations between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday:
