Washington, DC Office of Motion Picture and TV Development Announces 4th Film DC Annual Screenwriters Competition

OMPTV and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities are currently accepting original, unpublished manuscripts written by Washington, DC residents.

Eighty-five percent of the scripts locations must be authentic Washington, DC locations. Scripts will be evaluated on the basis of authenticity of locations, originality, structure, character development, dialogue, writing skill, commercial potential, and the judges’ impressions.

  • What: The 4th Annual Film DC Screenwriting Competition
  • Who: All Washington, DC residents 18 years of age or older, who have not written or sold a script to a cable company, television network or movie studio.
  • When: All entries must be mailed and postmarked by June 18, 2004
  • Why: To win a trip to Los Angeles, CA to visit the set of The West Wing, and participate in a writer’s session with the creators of the show.
