(Washington, DC) Due to the fact that 2007 will be the first renewal period for which LPNs will be required to comply with continuing education requirements, the LPN Renewal Period is being extended until August 30, 2007. This extension will give nurses who were unaware of the continuing education requirement or who have not completed their 18 contact hours time to come into compliance. A late fee will not be charged for persons applying after June 30, 2007, but the late fee will be assessed to persons applying after August 30, 2007.
