Please find the complete application packages for Certification through the link below. There are two separate applications; one for Grandfathering applicants and one for Examination/Endorsement applicants. Please complete the application that pertains to the way you will be applying.
Applicants who have been Registered (RAC) with the District of Columbia Board of Professional Counseling since July 7, 2007 will be allowed to submit applications for the Grandfathering waiver. If you did not have a Registration by this date, you will need to make application for the certification by Examination.
Once you have submitted your complete application, the Board of Professional Counseling will review each application for approval for the District of Columbia Jurisprudence Examination and/or the National Addiction Counseling Examination through NAADAC-NCC. Once approved, you will receive an eligibility letter in the mail to register for the examination(s). Upon the Board receiving you passing examination score(s), your certification to practice addiction counseling in the District of Columbia will be issued.
