This is to advise the media that the Metropolitan Police Department’s Gay and Lesbian Liaison Unit (GLLU) will host a crime prevention and awareness workshop for members of the Transgender communities. Members from GLLU and the department’s Victims Services Unit will be present to provide community members with information regarding personal safety and resources which are available to members of this community. The GLLU is attempting to reach out to Transgender community members who may have been victims of abuse, hate/bias related crimes or incidents, domestic violence, sexual abuse or any other violent crime.
