Traffic Advisory: Street Closings and Parking Restrictions for Anti-War March

This is to advise the public that the United for Peace and Justice organization will hold an anti-war protest and march on Saturday, January 27, 2007.  To facilitate this event, no parking will be allowed on the following streets between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on the day of the event:

 

  • 3rd Street, NW, between Independence Avenue to Constitution Avenue, NW
  • Maryland Avenue, between 3rd Street and Independence Avenue, NW

 

Additionally, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 11:00 am and 4:30 pm:

 

  • ยท3rd Street, NW, between Independence Avenue to Constitution Avenue, NW
  • 4th Street, NW, between Independence Avenue to Constitution Avenue, NW

 

Motorists should also expect intermittent street closings in the downtown area to facilitate the march.

 

The parade route is as follows:

 

From the National Mall, north on Third Street (from Madison Drive) to Constitution Avenue, west on Constitution Avenue to First Street, NE, south on First Street to East Capitol Street, u-turn and head back north on First Street to Constitution Avenue, east on Constitution Avenue to First Street, NW, south on First Street to Maryland Avenue, west on Maryland Avenue to Independence Avenue, west on Independence Avenue to 4th Street, north on Fourth Street and back to the National Mall.
