The Metropolitan Police Department will reintroduce the Officer Friendly Program. The program will utilize school resource officers who will attend various classes and give lectures on traffic safety, personal safety and civic responsibility.

The first selected school is Randle Highland Elementary School. Mayor Adrian Fenty and Acting Chief of Police Cathy L. Lanier is expected to attend. The news media is invited to attend.
