TRAFFIC ADVISORY: National Action Network March

On Friday, November 16, 2007, the National Action Network is scheduled to hold a First Amendment rally and march in the District of Columbia.  The Metropolitan Police Department is implementing temporary rolling road closures as the marchers proceed between Freedom Plaza and the Department of Justice.

The march is scheduled to begin at 12 o’clock following a rally to be conducted at Freedom Plaza located in the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The scheduled route of the march will be as follows:

  • Departing Freedom Plaza and proceeding east on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
  • South on 10th Street, NW
  • East on Constitution Avenue, NW
  • North on 9th Street, NW
  • West on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to 10th Street, NW

Following a scheduled march around the Department of Justice, the marchers are to proceed westbound on Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. and return to Freedom Plaza where they are scheduled to disband.

Motorists may anticipate delays in these areas as the marchers proceed between their destinations and may want to consider alternate routes of travel during these times.
