Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier announced today the start of the fifth All Hands on Deck (AHOD). The fifth AHOD begins at 6 AM on Friday, December 7, 2007 and continues through 6 AM on Sunday, December 9, 2007.  During AHOD, all available sworn personnel will be on patrol, and will work eight hour shifts. There will be no overtime costs associated with the fifth AHOD.

The first four phases of AHOD conducted in June, July, August and November netted more than 1,900 arrests.  Command officials will be available for media interviews. A schedule of availability will be provided.
