Metropolitan Police Department Hosts Tree of Remembrance Event to Honor the Lives of Homicide Victims

The Metropolitan Police Department will host a Tree of Remembrance holiday memorial dedicated to honoring the lives of loved ones lost to homicides. Family and friends will memorialize and honor their lost loved one by placing a decorative ornament on the tree in their remembrance.

The event is hosted by the MPD Criminal Investigation Division, Victims Service Branch, Family Liaison Unit and Major Case Victim Unit. In addition to MPD, supporters of the memorial include Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6C02, the DC Homicide Coalition, ROOT, Inc. and Survivors of Homicides Inc. The event will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008 at One Judiciary Square 441 4th Street, NW in the Former Council Chambers from  3 pm to 5 pm.
