This is to advise the public of the street closings and parking restrictions with respect to the funeral services for the late Abe Pollin. Those services are scheduled to be conducted on Friday, November 27, 2009, at the Washington Hebrew Congregation located at 3935 Macomb Street, NW. The services are scheduled to begin at 11:30 am and conclude at approximately 1:00 pm.
In conjunction with those services, the following streets will be closed on Friday, November 27, 2009, beginning at approximately 10:00 am.

Macomb Street will be closed to thru traffic between Massachusetts Avenue and Idaho Avenue, NW

39th Street will be closed to thru traffic between Massachusetts Avenue and Newark Street, NW
There will also be no parking on the above listed streets on Friday, November 27, 2009 from 8:30 am until 2:00 pm.
Upon completion of the services the funeral procession is scheduled to take the following route:
North on Massachusetts Avenue around Ward Circle, NW, west on Nebraska Avenue NW, south on Arizona Avenue, NW, north on Canal Road, NW and westbound over the Chain Bridge into the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Motorists may experience temporary road closures as the funeral procession travels thru the District of Columbia and into the Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition, motorists can anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic in the area of these services and are asked to proceed with caution.
Parking for the media will be provided on the south side of Macomb Street at 39th Street, NW. It is kindly requested that media vehicles refrain from parking directly in front of the Washington Hebrew Congregation.
